Stimulation

Stimulation is the constant stream of sights, sounds, lights, and information that either nourishes our senses or overwhelms them. Modern environments tend toward overstimulation — screens, notifications, noise, artificial light — which keeps the nervous system in a state of arousal that interferes with rest, focus, and emotional regulation. Environmental health includes managing your stimulation environment: reducing chronic noise, seeking natural light, creating space for quiet, and giving your senses genuine rest.
